During the party, the group engaged in a game of Spin the Bottle, which saw Melanie and Cole make out with each other, after which the others kept asking Cole about the cult. After finding out that his parents planned to send him to a psychiatric hospital, Cole escaped with Melanie, with both of them heading to a lake party along with Jimmy (Melanie's boyfriend), Boom-Boom, and Diego. The sequel took place two years after the events of the first film, with Melanie being the only person who believed Cole regarding his ordeal with Bee and the rest of the cult. Melanie's heel turn in The Babysitter: Killer Queen As the cult pursued Cole, Melanie ended up caught in the crossfire after Cole entered her house and informed her of everything that was going on, and it was during this point that Cole finally acted on his romantic affinity for Melanie and kissed her before leaving to fight against the remanining members of the cult. As the film shows, Melanie is one of two characters who truly befriended Cole in the film the other being his babysitter, Bee, even after Bee's reveal as the leader of a demonic cult. Melanie first appeared in the original film, The Babysitter, and was introduced as the best friend and potential love interest of main protagonist Cole Johnson. However, Bee does not drink any and after the other five do so, they all feel sick. John, Max, Sonya, and Allison are all resurrected once more as they all prepare to drink the blood mix. John returns in the 2020 sequel alongside Max, Allison and Sonya after two years, returning to finish their ritual. The Babysitter The Babysitter: Killer Queen Not much is known of John's past, but he wanted to become a successful rapper, and decided to join Bee's cult group that sacrificed people's blood to receive their wishes. When he realizes he was going to die a third time, John tried to make a plea to God to avoid hell, showing cowardice in the face of damnation. He is also impulsive, as he only joined Bee's cult just so he could become a successful rapper, and suffers a gruesome death because of it. Despite this, he has no problems with sacrificing innocent people for success and holds no qualms with murdering a minor. He is the only one of the group who is comedic, often telling jokes and acting immature and dimwitted. Out of all of his fellow cultist, he is the least psychotic and shows himself to more affable, treating them as his friends.
